WELCOME FR. PRENTICE
A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM
FR. PRENTICE TIPTON
Greetings to all my friends at Christ the Redeemer. May Christ our Lord overwhelm you with his grace!
I have not yet been in Louisiana for a full week, and have yet to meet most of you, but already the welcome has been amazing. I arrived this past Monday evening to a church of over a hundred parishioners gathered to pray the rosary for me. What a blessing that from the very beginning, my ministry among you has been bathed in prayer. What a gift!
Many of those parishioners lingered for quite a while after the prayer service just to introduce themselves, to welcome me personally, and to shake my hand. The personal engagement was so refreshing and made me feel right at home.
I am honored to be asked by Christ and our bishop to serve at Christ the Redeemer for this upcoming year. I am likewise honored to serve alongside Fr. Mark Toups, a brother who is dear to me, whose friendship I cherish, and whose leadership I have great respect for. I am grateful for the marvelous comrades on staff here who have received me so warmly. The hospitality of the parish is a joy to me.
As the year begins, I place myself fully at the Lord’s disposal, with the prayer, that I might be able to give to you as much as I receive from you. For you my friends are a very giving community of faith. May the Lord reward your generous hearts.
